Why should a business join the Marion Chamber of Commerce? The answer is the Marion Chamber of Commerce is the region's largest and most active Chamber with over 520 members representing more than 300 area businesses, organizations, and industry. The Chamber supports the growth of area business and keeps a constant communication with local and state officials regarding legislative issues affecting all businesses.
1-on-1 Business Marketing Consulting
The Chamber’s Marketing Committee will provide consultative services to member businesses to help set goals, evaluate the market, identity objectives and tasks, and recommend promotional, advertising and marketing opportunities through a formal written marketing plan.
The Chamber is the organized voice of business for the Marion area. We look for potential opportunities and challenges for our area and work with our members to continue making this the best possible place to live and work.
Business After Hours
Business After Hours events are held on the fourth Thursday of the month, unless the Chamber member has a special need for a different date or calendar conflicts arise at the Chamber. The hours for a Business After hours event are to be determined by the Chamber member, however 4-6 p.m. is recommended. For the event, the Chamber will promote the event through all of its communication methods, provide member mailing labels for invitations when requested and attend the event. The Chamber member's responsibility for the event can include sending special invitations to Chamber Members and their customers (must include the Chamber logo on printed materials), providing food and beverages at the event, providing door prizes at the event and making a presentation about their business/organization. The Business After Hours Program fee is $100. There is no cost to Chamber members to attend the event.
Business Happy Hour
Marion Chamber of Commerce Business Happy Hour events are held on the second Thursday in January, April, July and October, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. usually at Martini Joe’s in Marion. Drinks will be 1/2 price during the Business Happy Hour event. There is no cost to attend the event.
Seminars on topics of interest to our membership are offered as needed.
The Marion Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Chamber Nation to provide its members with the Official Calendar Network. Join the Marion Chamber Cash Mob! Every quarter, the Marion Chamber invites you to visit a Marion area retail shops armed with cash, a smile, and a love of Marion. We call the shop ahead of time to let them know they have been chosen as that quarter’s Cash Mob destination, but we won’t let you know where the location is until the day before the Cash Mob. The Marion Chamber Cash Mob is held the 2nd Thursday in March, June, September and December. .

Chamber Monthly Luncheons
The Marion Chamber of Commerce has the deserved reputation as having the best-attended membership luncheons. Featured speakers address topics that are current and relevant to our members. If any Marion Chamber of Commerce member would like to have fliers for an upcoming event, announcements, etc. placed at each attendee's seat at the luncheon, please contact the Chamber to arrange for delivery of the fliers prior to the luncheon. Distributing fliers / business cards/ etc. at the Monthly Membership Lunches is free and a part of your Marion Chamber of Commerce Membership!
The Chamber publishes a map every two to three years that is used to mail out to all of the informational requests we get. The advertising panels on the map are available to Chamber members only.

Digital Sign Advertising
The Marion Chamber of Commerce makes its electronic outdoor sign available for rent to Chamber members. Ads can be up to 2 lines of text with the typical line containing about 18 characters (including spaces). Ads will be displayed twice for 15 seconds each on a 5 minute loop. We allow for a maximum of 10 ads, which means each ad is live on the board 576 times every day and approximately 17,520 times per month. The sign runs 24/7 so your message gets maximum exposure.
Join the Marion Chamber Dish Mob! Every quarter, the Marion Chamber invites you to visit a Marion area restaurant armed with cash, a smile, and a love of Marion. We call and block several tables (usually for 20 people) during the breakfast, lunch or dinner hours but we won’t let you know where the location is until the day before the Dish Mob. The Marion Chamber Dish Mob is held the 2nd Thursday in February, May, August and November.
Lunch and Learn
This program is a part of the Marion Chamber’s Leadership Marion development program for CEOs, entrepreneurs, managers, and all potential leaders. Held at Heartland Regional Medical Center on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except for November and December) from noon to 1 p.m., you will receive the best leadership principles, interact with other growing leaders, and discuss how to apply effective practices to your organization. After each Lunch & Learn, you will walk away with at least one mind changing idea that will create a desire formotivation and self-improvement. This is the perfect professional development opportunity to increase levels of influence and potential in yourself and in the teams you lead. Admission is $15 per Marion Chamber member ($20 for non-Chamber). Lunch and drinks provided courtesy of Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Marion Community Profile Book
This book is used for economic development. It lists twelve vital areas of our community that a potential new business, organization or resident would be interested in. Only Chamber members are allowed to advertise in this book. The current Marion Profile Book is available here and copies are available at the Chamber office.
This program is a part of the Marion Chamber’s Leadership Marion development program for CEOs, entrepreneurs, managers, and all potential leaders. It is held at Heartland Regional Medical Center from noon to 1:15 p.m. on Mondays in 8- or 9-week sessions, Join a group of like-minded, forward-focusing individuals, working towards the common goals of growing ourselves, reaching our potential, and raising the bar on our leadership! Experience the incredible energy that participants bring to this facilitated group setting. Masterminds can be an extremely powerful tool to take your thinking and actions (and therefore results) to the next level! Dive deep into leadership topics with supportive like-minded leaders and learners. Mastermind Groups offer a unique opportunity to learn from others’ perspectives and experiences; and safely share your individual challenges and opportunities. There are a limited number of enrollments. $115 per Marion Chamber member ($125 for non-Chamber) enrollment fee includes a book. Enrollment is first-come, first served. Membership Mailing Labels
To assist members with their own direct mailings, our mailing list is available on labels to our members for $35 per printed set or free for electronic versions. We do not provide our e-mail list for distribution.
The Marion Chamber of Commerce is happy to promote members on the homepage of the Chamber’s Web site in the Member Spotlight section for $150. Note that one Member Spotlight is featured a month. Slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A company may only request a Member Spotlight once a year. The following months are available for purchase: February, April, July, August, October, and November.
The Marion Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Chamber Nation to provide its members with Mobile Apps. The Official Mobile App has been created to help individual communities of businesses complete online. It helps assure the organization focused on economic development can easily maintain a formalized mobile presence for their communities. Monthly Luncheon Sponsorship
The Marion Chamber of Commerce is happy to offer to members the sponsorship opportunity at the Monthly Membership Luncheons, held on the second Tuesday of each month (except for January) for $150. Each Monthly Luncheon will have only one sponsor, and that sponsor is entitled to: a logo in the luncheon invitation, opportunity to speak for up to five minutes at the luncheon, and a table set up by the registration table at the luncheon. The opportunity is limited to one Monthly Luncheon Sponsorship per business per year.
Marion Chamber of Commerce has invested in a state-of-the-art community wide economic development infrastructure. Racks for Member Information
Rack space is available for members to display their business brochures and business cards for visitors to our office.
The Chamber staff responds to the hundreds of inquires received by our office each year by giving lists of appropriate members. Members ONLY are referred as business leads.
All businesses and organizations in good standing with the Marion Chamber of Commerce can schedule a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Chamber free of charge. The Chamber will attend and promote the event, encourage city officials, members of the Chamber and its Board of Directors, and media to attend, and supply the ribbon and scissors for the event. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is the perfect way to celebrate your new business, new location, business remodel/renovation, new management/ownership, new products/services and more.
