THE GREATER MARION AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE JOB DESCRIPTION – OFFICE MANAGER
Section 1. Summary
Reports to the Executive Director. Duties include general clerical, receptionist, basic financial, bookkeeping knowledge, computer skills and project-based work. Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction.
Section 2. Primary Responsibilities
Manage daily administrative operations of the Chamber office. Positive attitude when welcoming visitors/clients, telephone calls, and electronic/written correspondence. Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, mailing, and filing. Oversee office – this includes cleanliness, safety, inventory and maintenance.
Promote the Chamber and its mission. Support the Executive Director, Committees, Board of Directors and membership, to include project planning and facilitation, and administrative assistance. Assist in Chamber events, programs, member benefits, projects, etc. Collect and maintain supply for brochure racks and inventory.
PC computer environment with the use of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and other programs.
Creation of marketing materials for online and social media support.
Section 3. Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Office administration best practices and principles in business communication. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Daily use of Microsoft Office for word processing, spreadsheet, and other standard software to create documents.
Policies related to staff organization, budgeting, filing, and purchasing practices. Familiarity with a non-profit operations, including the role of boards and committees is a plus.
Exercise sound independent judgment; follow written and oral instructions. Use of tact and discretion to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization.
Section 4. Working Conditions

Section 5. Compensation
$13/hour at 35 hours/week. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30 pm with occasional evenings/weekends
