APOGEEce - April 19th at the Pavilion

About 60 attendees gathered at the Pavilion on April 19th to sit down with Tim Miles, a motivational speaker from Nashville TN and ties to the Southern IL area. He spoke about building powerful connections within your workforce community to increase retention in today's employment environment. The APOGEEce presentation was a continuation of last fall's APOGEE event since Tim was unable to join us in November. Attendees were also able to take advantage of Continuing Education Credits sponsored by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and enjoy doughnuts and coffee from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Special Thanks to Black Diamond Family of Businesses of for Sponsoring Tim's presentation.

Program Topic: Fixing Recruitment & Retention with a Little TLC

The way we’re working… isn’t working.

Two recent studies—and seemingly every other news story—remind us there’s a systemic sickness in America. Call it The Great Resignation. Call it Quiet Quitting. Heck, call it Betty Lou… because no matter what you call it, it’s affecting all of us in unprecedented ways..

According to Gallup, in our post-pandemic world, voluntary employee turnover costs a company with 100 employees between $550,000 and $2.2mm annually. Another Gallup poll said that—among those who do stay—distracted, disengaged employees cost US companies alone more than $650,000,000,000 in lost hours, missed goals, and wasted opportunities.

But you don’t need scientific data to tell you there’s a problem, do you? And as well as anyone, you know it’s far worse than just the financial cost. It’s a disease affecting everyone in the company—spreading like an invisible virus with no name and no face, but with devastating consequences among those who remain.

A poor company culture costs money, time, attention, energy, optimism, and a sense of community sorely missing in a post-pandemic world. Not only will you never near your apogee, you’ll never get off the ground—instead sinking deeper and deeper into the pit of mediocrity.

Tim’s company has helped clients across the US and Canada reverse those terrifying trends, and they will help you, too.

In this engaging, electrifying presentation, you’ll learn what’s really been happening, why, and most importantly, what to do about it whether you have 2 or 2000 employees. We’ll give you 15 tested tools to T-verb your teamwork, leadership, and company culture to recalibrate your recruitment and retention programs.

But… be warned. Things are going to get a little weird. You won’t find these tools in all the famous business books or CEO autobiographies.

These tools don’t come from the business world. They were born out of the love for a boy who looks at the world a little differently.

In a post-COVID world, everything is different now, and in order to track toward your apogee in 2023 and beyond, you must trust one thing: You need a little TLC because today, every good company starts with heart.
