On April 20th, Chamber members, business colleagues, and family joined Fehr Graham in the celebration of their new Marion location. Chamber Board Vice Chair Deborah Hogg and Marion Mayor Michael Absher welcomed attendees and spoke about the growth of Marion, the importance of family-based businesses, and the 50th anniversary of Fehr Graham. Andy Rainwater, manager of the Marion office talked about the history of the business, their existing projects in Southern Illinois, and vision for the future. He introduced additional members of the Fehr Graham team that were present at the event and represented their Champaign and Rockford business locations. We are excited to see Fehr Graham grow and build on the growth opportunities going on in our region!

Andy Rainwater, PE, leads Fehr Graham’s Marion office. He specializes in water, wastewater, water resources and transportation projects. His experience and technical expertise ensures projects are completed on time and on budget. Andy enjoys helping clients find solutions to complex problems. He graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from McKendree University.
Michael Hansen, PE, is Fehr Graham’s point person in central Illinois. He specializes in managing water, wastewater, water resources, civil and transportation projects. He leads teams and directs engineers and technicians in a collaborative environment. His strong surveying background is an asset, making him an expert in crew coordination, mapping, construction layout services, and boundary plats and surveys. He graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Matthew Johnson, PE, SE, is a Fehr Graham Principal with more than 20 years of experience in civil and structural engineering. He leads a 25-person multidiscipline team and focuses his time on planning, development, design and construction of water and wastewater projects throughout the firm. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering.
Noah Carmichael, PE, is a Fehr Graham Principal. Noah is a transportation and municipal engineering specialist who leads high-profile projects, including complex railroad and roadway designs for municipal and private clients. He works closely with municipal and governmental clients on public utility and development projects, helping them secure permits and grant funding. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in General Engineering.
